A Community Relations Manager works for a business or organization to develop strategies and programs that represent the business favorably and which create a positive relationship with its community and customers. Manages community relations programs that are in alignment with business strategies. May direct or administer the charitable contributions, grants and volunteer programs.
• Are you passionate about community engagement, advocacy, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth and families? Step's Foundation, Inc. is seeking a motivated Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator Intern to support our growing programs and community initiatives. This volunteer hybrid internship involves both in-person engagement throughout the Kissimmee community and remote coordination work. You will play a key role in expanding our reach by building partnerships, supporting outreach efforts, and engaging volunteers to ensure successful program delivery. Our work goes beyond mental health awareness to include health and wellness, career development, financial literacy, independent living skills, and soft skills development , all aimed at empowering youth and families.
What You'll Do:
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and local stakeholders Support the planning and execution of outreach events, workshops, and community initiatives Assist in identifying and developing new partnerships aligned with the organization's mission Represent Step's Foundation, Inc. at community meetings and events Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers for programs and outreach activities Coordinate volunteer participation, including scheduling and communication Create outreach materials, resources, and communications to support engagement efforts Track outreach activities, volunteer involvement, and program impact; assist with reporting Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen program visibility and community engagement
What We're Looking For:
Are currently enrolled in or exploring careers in social work, public relations, communications, public administration, nonprofit management, or related fields Are passionate about youth empowerment, community engagement, and advocacy Are comfortable with public engagement, networking, and attending community events Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Have strong written and verbal communication skills Are proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Are willing to participate in in-person activities in the Kissimmee area Why Join Us?
