Job Description
The Communications Manager for BCS Together will develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to advance our mission, grow community awareness, and deepen engagement with donors, partners, and the families we serve. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization's communications, including social media, email marketing, website content, and print and digital materials. The Communications Manager will create compelling content that tells our story, including client impact stories, social media posts, and print materials, while ensuring consistent branding across all channels and materials. They will also oversee all advertising and promotional materials for fundraisers and family-focused events. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, demonstrating the ability to pivot quickly without sacrificing quality or attention to detail. They will be adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously, executing tasks efficiently and thoroughly under tight deadlines, and adapting their approach as organizational needs, platforms, and communication trends continue to evolve. This position reports to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with senior leadership, program staff, and external vendors to amplify BCS Together's work and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Manage existing social media platforms and identify new opportunities to remain current with trends and best practices Create content for a compelling content calendar and campaigns reflecting the BCS Together's mission to fuel audience and traffic growth Lead social media strategies that ensure all content aligns with BCS Together's mission, vision, and marketing goals Handle all social media communications from the community Track and measure the level of engagement Visual Communication Maintain brand consistency across all platforms and materials Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral, including, but not limited to, flyers, banners, posters, infographics, BCS Together's website, and other marketing materials Work across all departments to ensure brand consistency and accurate information across publications, the website, and media. Email and Text Marketing Create email and text campaigns Events Establish meetings and implement processes to determine communication needs, strategy, schedule, and opportunities for fundraisers and family-focused events Create event-focused content for social media and marketing avenues Create all print collateral for events, including, but not limited to, signage, banners, handouts, and other marketing materials Help design and maintain the fundraising event website Oversee email and text messaging lists and segmentation for donors, families, and community partners Analyze email metrics, share results, and adjust strategies based on outcomes Requirements Believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, manage time, deliverables, and meet deadlines. Flexible and solutions-oriented mindset in an ever-changing communications landscape Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through Proven track record of completing tasks efficiently and thoroughly under pressure Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, deadlines, and organizational needs Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges, think critically, and implement effective solutions in real time Knowledge of best practices for writing and publishing on different platforms (especially Facebook and Instagram) Must be a strong communicator with excellent written, presentation, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment and the ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment. Ability to identify and craft compelling stories from everyday organizational activities and community interactions Software Skills Desired - SquareSpace; MailChimp or similar email service provider; all Social Media Platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace Ability to work the occasional night or weekend for eventsPreferred:
