Job Description

Position Summary ION is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized director of marketing to supervise/be responsible for all the organization's marketing, including member engagement, membership recruitment and retention, event marketing and advertising, sponsorship programs, and strategic outreach that align with ION's mission. Key Responsibilities 1. Member Engagement Manage social media accounts, including content management Develop digital marketing strategy and campaigns, including tracking and analytics Create webinars and virtual programs Work with other members of staff for member networking events and provide event coverage 2. Membership Marketing/Recruitment/Retention Oversee membership lifecycle marketing Design membership recruitment programs in collaboration with other key staff members Sell corporate memberships to corporate partners Market membership at other organizations' events (both non-profit and for-profit events) Create automatic membership offers and invitations on the organization's website Manage the mailing list and member renewals Produce regular membership status reports, including comparisons to prior years 3. Event Marketing Collaboration of all promotional materials/graphic concept for various technical events Advertising placement and trades with industry partners Advertorials and editorial coverage in trade publications Social media marketing and geo-fencing 4. Other Supervise other membership/marketing staff Coordinate all advertising with media partners Coordinate local section activities, including marketing membership to non-member participants Write and circulate press releases on ION programs Create and manage surveys and evaluations Produce executive reports as assigned All other duties as assigned How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to Lbeaty@ion.org. Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen with no criminal background (background check will be conducted) Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (social media coursework desirable) 10+ years of relevant association marketing experience 5+ years of social media marketing (association or nonprofit experience preferred) Experience working with social media platforms Experience in digital marketing, campaign strategies, and tracking Experience overseeing membership lifecycle marketing and membership marketing campaigns Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe graphics programs Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends for events Physical requirements include the ability to move, pack, and lift conference freight/audiovisual cases; and on-site set-up of conference materials, etc. Note this is an in person position; no telecommuting will be considered. Working hours 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
