Executive Director of Virginia Christian Education Network (VCEN) The Family Foundation of Virginia Richmond, VA Job Details Full-time From $90,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork Master's degree Education Organizational skills Media relations Full Job Description The Family Foundation's Virginia Christian Education Network (VCEN) Executive Director serves as the primary leader and strategist for advancing the mission of Christian education within Virginia. This role is responsible for building a robust network of evangelical and Catholic schools, advocating for parental rights in education, and cultivating legislative relationships to protect and expand educational freedom. The Director acts as the bridge between the VCEN, school administrators, and policymakers. ________________________________________
Key Responsibilities Network Development & Membership Growth Strategy:
Recruit and retain member schools (evangelical and Catholic) to ensure a unified voice for Christian education in Virginia.
Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for school heads, providing resources, updates, and organizational support.
Regional Engagement:
Organize and lead regional meetings to foster collaboration among Christian educators.
Scholarships & Fundraising Revenue Targets:
Secure the requisite amount of scholarship funding annually through a diversified strategy encompassing individual/corporate donors, school partnerships, and foundation grants.
Donor Cultivation:
Identify, engage, and steward relationships with prospective and current donors to build a sustainable pipeline of scholarship support for member school families.
Grant Contributor:
Provide content, data and vision for use by the development team for grant proposals and ensure full compliance with reporting and accountability requirements.
Scholarship Administration:
Collaborate with member schools to establish fair and transparent criteria for scholarship distribution, track award disbursements, and measure the impact of funded scholarships on student enrollment and retention.
Campaign Leadership:
Participate in the execution of annual fundraising campaigns and special events designed to raise awareness and generate financial support for Christian education scholarships across Virginia.
Financial Reporting:
Provide regular updates to The Family Foundation leadership on progress toward scholarship fundraising goals, including variance analysis and adjusted strategies as needed.
Policy & Advocacy Legislative Cultivation:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with Virginia lawmakers and their staff to advocate for school choice and religious liberty.
Issue Tracking:
Monitor VA Department of Education regulations and legislative sessions for items impacting private Christian schools.
Public Representation:
Testify in committee hearings and represent the VCEN at public forums or media inquiries as directed.
Strategic Communications Advocacy Alerts:
Develop and distribute "calls to action" to member schools regarding urgent legislative matters.
Resource Creation:
Oversee the production of newsletters, policy briefs, and promotional materials that highlight the value of Christian education. ________________________________________
Qualifications Professional Experience Leadership:
Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience, preferably in education administration, public policy, or non-profit leadership.
Advocacy Background:
Proven track record in relationship-based advocacy or working within the Virginia legislative process.
Network Building:
Demonstrated ability to scale a membership-based organization or lead a diverse coalition.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Political Science, Communications, or a related field.
Preferred:
Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.

Richmond, VA Travel:
