As a key ambassador for the Credit Union, this role is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that foster meaningful community partnerships, elevate the organization's presence, and align with its philanthropic vision. The Director leads a team of Community Relations Specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of community engagement initiatives. Primary responsibilities include cultivating high-value community relationships, leading fundraising and charitable initiatives, overseeing the internal volunteer program and promotional efforts, directing the planning and execution of events and internal communications, analyzing community and economic trends to inform strategic decisions, and identifying innovative opportunities to advance the Credit Union's vision and mission. Essential Responsibilities Develop and lead the overall strategy for community partnerships, charitable sponsorships, and events, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, brand, and business objectives. Collaborate with the Marketing team to integrate these initiatives across all communication channels, including the website, email, press releases, and more. Oversee the conceptualization and execution of high-impact events and partnerships that create meaningful experiences for targeted audiences. Provide strategic direction for on-site activations and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Direct all aspects of event production, including vendor negotiations, location selection, on-site logistics, and post-event analysis. Events may include grand openings, branch remodels, sponsor activations, and community engagements. Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer to define and implement giving strategies that maximize the impact of designated funds while adhering to the credit union's giving requirements. Directs event production which would require coordination with external vendors, location scouting, on-site set-up, clean-up, and post-event analysis. Events include grand openings, branch remodels, sponsor activation, community events, etc. Facilitates and manages branding standards with external logo usage in sponsorship opportunities and associated materials. Partner with the CEO, executive leadership, and internal departments to plan and execute high-profile member and community events, such as recruiting activities, educational opportunities, sponsorship tables, and golf outings. Oversee the management and optimization of internal donation management software, ensuring seamless processes and compliance with updates. Lead the tracking, evaluation, and evolution of charitable giving programs, including scholarships, employee matching, and future initiatives. Provide strategic recommendations for program enhancements. Educates and empowers internal team members on the volunteer program, various giving opportunities, and recruits for continued engagement. Manage and allocate the Community Outreach budget, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with strategic priorities. Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to evaluate new opportunities and adjust budgets as needed. Upholds a positive reputation on behalf of Capital Credit Union when representing the organization at charitable activities, public presentations, committee work, or other related events. Also maintains internal relationships to engage volunteer pool and enhance participation. Able to prepare and speak on behalf of the credit union in public or coordinate the appropriate speaker for the activity or situation as needed. Ensure adherence to charitable regulations and compliance protocols within the financial industry. Maintain robust record retention practices to support transparency and accountability. Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to identify and execute opportunities to enhance brand awareness and member loyalty through innovative promotional strategies. Must have willingness and drive to be on-site to activate on partnerships and design events that create experiences for specific audiences. Moderate travel required to various branches, events, off-site meetings, seminars, and conferences. Read, coach, and mentor a team of Community Relations Specialists, fostering professional growth and ensuring the team's success in executing strategic initiatives. Necessary Experience and Qualifications Proven track record of strategic leadership in community partnerships, event management, or related fields, with a demonstrated ability to align initiatives with organizational goals. High level of energy and engagement for extended periods of time at events Has a bachelor or an associate degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a business-related field, or four years of previous work experience in relatable positions. Exceptional project and time management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple high-stakes initiatives simultaneously. Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with experience representing organizations in public forums. Expertise in donation management software and data-driven decision-making. Proficiency in developing and monitoring budgets, with a focus on financial stewardship and strategic allocation of resources. Can read, write, and comprehend detailed and technical instructions, and translate technical (procedural) information for a non-technical audience. Familiarity with writing press releases, media alerts and other external content is preferred. Able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible. Can handle high-stress situations and navigate next steps individually or with a team. Pays close attention to detail and maintains a high degree of accuracy. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with a diverse group of employees and members, both on an individual basis as well as in group settings. Maintains a professional demeanor and atmosphere and preserves sensitive information with integrity. Possesses the ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and support overall business objectives. Able to operate a computer and basic office machines, as normally acquired through a basic course or one to three months of on-the-job experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
