Role Overview:

A Certified Peer Specialist works with youth in community-based programs, utilizing lived recovery experience to provide support, foster hope, and promote self-direction.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer one-on-one, strength-based support to help youth achieve recovery goals. Share recovery knowledge and lived experience to empower youth in setting meaningful objectives. Assist in crisis planning and develop strategies for crisis management. Connect youth and families to community resources and natural support systems. Build collaborative relationships with families, providers, and team members. Complete documentation and ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participate in professional development, team meetings, and training sessions. Fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; Master's preferred. Valid Wisconsin Peer Specialist Certification. Minimum of one year community-based experience. Strong cultural competency, interpersonal, and communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent documentation skills, and highly organized. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and pass background checks.
