JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tyonek Tribal Conservation District (TTCD) team is seeking a Communications and Engagement Coordinator to join our team! This position is responsible for working with the Executive Director and Grants & Programs Coordinator to support the new Alaska Tribal Conservation District Network, manage external media and outreach, and support fund development activities. This highly collaborative position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the ability to consistently multitask and adapt to varying demands.
JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications Content and Outreach Engagement:
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that align with organizational priorities, program needs, and fundraising goals. This will require coordinating media needs across team calendars, aligning messaging among departments while elevating programmatic work Shape clear, compelling narratives by translating complex concepts into accessible stories that resonate with diverse audiences Maintain communications schedule for newsletters and social media, monitoring and analyzing engagement to meet organizational objectives Create printed outreach material and update website content as necessary Liaison with Tebughna School and other outreach relationships, providing consistency in external communications to multiple target audiences Assist with grant and funder reporting needs Coordination of the
Alaska Tribal Conservation District Network:
Facilitate meetings, committees, events, and communications of network being catalyzed by 25 tribal conservation districts across the state Coordinate annual January symposium, as well as training events throughout the year Collaborate with Grants & Programs Coordinator to manage subgrantees relationships and reporting Fund Development Assist the Executive Director in finalizing fund development goals and work plan

Communications & Engagement Coordinator (6/5/26) Coordinate fund development activities with the Executive Director to identify and steward individual and corporate donors. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with partners of different backgrounds, experiences, and missions Demonstrated proficiency in creating and tracking messaging to multiple target audiences Ability to create images and multimedia tools to support communication goals Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail Proficiency in using social media platforms and content management systems Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, MailChimp, WordPress, Canva or similar software Demonstrated experience managing projects that include participation from multiple internal and external team members. Highly organized, efficient, solutions- and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize workload tasks to meet multiple deadlines Pro-active and strategic mindset that enjoys improving existing systems collaboratively
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working in nonprofit sector Experience working with Alaska Native Tribes and partnerships Experience in nonprofit fundraising campaigns Experience maintaining websites A background that supports, or interest in learning more about, TTCD's mission and programming
THE ORGANIZATION
The Tyonek Tribal Conservation District (TTCD) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2005 as a partnership between the Native Village of Tyonek, Tyonek Native Corporation, and USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. TTCD serves a 6.6M acre geographic region defined by Alaska Game Management Unit 16b. TTCD supports the natural resource conservation priorities of our district stakeholders through programs that focus on food security and subsistence through salmon habitat restoration, invasive species monitoring and mitigation, watershed conservation planning, community agriculture, STEM outreach, and support of the Alaska Tribal Conservation District Network.
