Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting supervisor with all aspects of creative and social media, public relations, and the general promotion of the athletic department to provide direct contact between the department and external constituencies. Serve as a primary athletic communications contact for assigned sports, executing the day-to-day promotion of those programs and serving as an official spokesperson and liaison to the public; Serve as seasonal sport-specific media relations coordinator, including oversight of statistical services for assigned home events; Create press releases and/or game highlight recaps for assigned sports for distribution on RoarLions.com; Work closely with marketing, athletic communications, broadcast productions, and associated external units on various assignments that require sports information expertise; Assist in the creative process for production of content for digital platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to tell stories and highlight the successes of North Alabama Athletics; Provide support in the creation of designs for a variety of mediums, marketing collateral, social media, digital design elements, templates, email, etc., within the established brand identity and brand guidelines; Work in collaboration with communications, conference, and national officials for weekly and post-season awards in assigned sports; Assist communications office with updating of historical information and school records for assigned sports; Perform all other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Travel with assigned teams during regular and/or post-season events as needed. Bachelor's degree, required; One to two years of experience with creative media, video, and/or athletics communication, required.
