Job Description
- Support the planning and coordination of external communication efforts in collaboration with the Development & Marketing team to promote special events, fundraising, cause marketing campaigns, food bank programs, and disaster relief initiatives.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with program departments to accurately represent and promote organizational activities and hunger-related issues to the public.
- Attend relevant food bank and partner events to gather stories, video, and photos to support marketing and fundraising activities
- Create, manage, and distribute content across various formats and social media channels, ensuring alignment with the organization's messaging and goals, including the development of emails, web pages, and other communication assets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain a content calendar that supports the annual communications strategy and promotes consistent brand messaging across all channels.
- Write and publish compelling content for digital outlets such as social media posts, blog articles, and impact/grant reports; source material through interviews with staff, volunteers, donors, and program participants.
- Monitor, moderate, and respond to social media comments and messages promptly and professionally to foster positive community engagement.
- Analyze communication and digital marketing efforts using key performance metrics; track engagement, identify high-performing content, and provide regular reports to inform strategy.
- Collaborate to develop and implement digital fundraising strategies to acquire, renew, and retain donors.
- Conduct research on trends and audience preferences to optimize messaging and improve digital engagement.
- Develop and execute a strategy for online engagement efforts, which includes improving response time to messages and comments, and increasing two-way feedback within online channels to strengthen the organization's reputation as a trusted resource of assistance.
- Assist with the creation of presentations as needed
- Collaboratively maintain Feeding the Gulf Coast's brand, promoting consistent messaging and ensuring organization-wide adherence to the brand guide.
- Collaboratively maintain the food bank's library of digital assets Fundraising, Grants, and Community Engagement
- Develop and execute online fundraising strategies to raise funds and engage donors through digital platforms, including the creation of compelling and effective online donation campaign pages.
- Collaborate with the Grants Coordinator to research and prepare high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, budgets, and supporting documents for timely submission.
- Collaborate across departments as necessary to gather information for grant proposals and reports, including testimonials and photographs.
- Assist with post-award grant tracking through project management tools such as ASANA.
- Develop presentations for potential funders.
- Ensure all grant-related social media requirements are met.
- Facilitate the completion of United Way grant and partnership requirements.
- Identify, develop, and foster relationships to create mutually beneficial partnerships within the community, which serve to strengthen engagement and increase awareness of our organizational mission
- Coordinate and implement community outreach and engagement opportunities and events, including peer-to-peer campaigns, fundraisers, event advertising, event logistics, and cause marketing campaigns
