Professional Springdale, AR 1st Shift $25/Hour Job Details Our staffing agency is seeking a Communications and Public Relations Coordinator on behalf of our client, a respected nonprofit organization serving Northwest Arkansas. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a creative, organized, and self-motivated communications professional who enjoys storytelling, community engagement, and developing content that makes an impact. The Communications and Public Relations Coordinator will help manage and execute the organization's communications strategy, increasing community awareness, engagement, and support for its mission. This position will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including media relations, social media management, website updates, content creation, event coverage, and marketing support. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and communicator who can take complex information and turn it into compelling stories for community members, donors, partners, stakeholders, and the general public. Key Responsibilities Media Relations Write and distribute monthly press releases highlighting programs, events, partnerships, accomplishments, and community impact.
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets, journalists, and community publications.
Pitch relevant stories and coordinate interviews to increase positive media coverage.
Monitor media mentions and track coverage related to the organization. Social Media Management Develop and publish engaging content across social media channels at least four times per week.
Create social media posts, graphics, captions, and short-form content promoting programs, events, campaigns, and impact stories.
Monitor comments and messages and engage with followers when appropriate.
Track social media analytics and adjust content strategies to improve engagement and reach. Communications Strategy Develop and implement communications plans aligned with organizational goals.
Maintain consistent messaging, branding, and organizational voice across communications platforms.
Support strategic fundraising, community outreach, awareness, and event campaigns.
Maintain a communications calendar to coordinate campaigns, events, announcements, and deadlines. Content Creation Write newsletters, blog posts, donor communications, organizational announcements, and other written materials.
Develop storytelling content that demonstrates the organization's impact within the community.
Create basic visual content, including graphics, captions, photography, and short videos.
Assist with marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, event promotions, and informational materials. Photography & Event Coverage Attend organizational events to capture photographs and short video content for marketing and communications purposes.
Maintain an organized digital library of photographs and other media assets.
Select and prepare visual content for use across social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials. Website & Email Management Update the organization's website with current news, events, programs, media coverage, and other information.
Ensure website content is accurate, current, and easy to navigate.
Optimize website content for readability and basic SEO.
Assist with creating and distributing email communications and newsletters. Additional Responsibilities Track communications metrics and provide periodic reports on engagement, reach, and campaign performance.
Assist leadership with speech writing, talking points, presentations, and messaging as needed.
Help maintain brand guidelines and visual consistency.
Coordinate with program staff to gather stories, updates, statistics, and impact information.
Support fundraising and community events through coordinated communications and promotional materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Two or more years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, nonprofit communications, or a related field preferred.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
Experience managing social media platforms and content scheduling tools.
Basic photography and photo-editing skills.
Familiarity with website content management systems such as WordPress preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a part-time environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Passion for nonprofit organizations, community engagement, and creating positive community impact. Preferred Skills Graphic design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
Basic analytics, reporting, and performance-tracking experience.
Experience pitching stories to media outlets and conducting press outreach.
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated initiative.
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, program staff, community partners, and external stakeholders.
