Job Description

Purpose and Goal of the
Position:
The Public Relations & Communications Specialist position is pivotal in driving the marketing and visual storytelling initiatives for the organization. This role is designed to enhance brand development, engage the community through various marketing channels, and elevate the District's presence through compelling videography and marketing strategies.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Community Relations/Brand Development Provide exceptional customer service; continually seeks opportunities to improve services/systems offered by CVMD and provides feedback to leadership team. Create and deliver compelling content and visuals that align with the brand's messaging and guidelines. Educate and enforce adherence to brand guidelines across the organization to maintain a cohesive brand image. Works with CVMD personnel, as applicable, to support the planning and execution of CVMD programs and events- including Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc. Social Media Management Manage and maintain the District's social media profiles, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, NextDoor, etc. Engage with online community, respond to comments, drive social media engagement, and monitor engagement. Stay informed about platform updates, trends and best practices to enhance the District's social media presence. Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of content across various channels. Utilize Hootsuite to schedule and publish content across various social media platforms. Video Editing/Production Plan and execute all technical aspects of video recording and editing. Perform video post-production tasks using Adobe Premiere Pro, including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing. Works with the Management team and Marketing team to develop storylines and concepts for videos. Ensures projects follow a logical sequence and fit the brand guidelines. Utilize computer graphics, special effects, motion graphics, and animation in alignment with production concepts. Stays informed about the current state of and future advances in video production technology and video distribution; Recommends new video support systems and hardware and software technologies based on analysis of needs. Participates in projects to integrate new video technologies and testing new hardware and software. Graphic Design Create visually compelling graphics for various marketing materials, including digital and print assets, social media posts, presentations, and promotional materials.
Other Responsibilities:
Maintains a clean and healthy work environment. Actively seeks opportunities to conserve energy, district resources, and offers options/suggestions to district management regarding eco-friendly options. Any other duties as may be required or requested by CVMD management.

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
