Job Summary The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Student Communications Operations Specialist position. The Student Communications Operations Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing student communications across systems and channels, ensuring timely, accurate, and effective message delivery at scale for the Division of Student Engagement & Success. The Specialist will translate strategy into action-leveraging CRM systems, AI agentic and automation tools, and communication platforms to deliver coordinated, personalized, and measurable student communications. Responsibilities CRM & Campaign Execution- Build, deploy, and manage student communication campaigns through Slate (email, SMS, workflows, journeys)
- Execute segmentation strategies defined by the Director of Communications Strategy
- Ensure accuracy, timing, and quality of all communications Communication Systems & Automation
- Manage and optimize communication platforms including CRM, chatbot/AI tools, and messaging systems
- Build automated workflows that support student engagement and timely follow-up
- Maintain system logic, triggers, and integrations Newsletter & Communication Cadence
- Develop and manage a streamlined student newsletter and communication cadence
- Coordinate content intake, prioritization, and scheduling
- Reduce message fatigue while maximizing relevance and clarity
- Manage UNG family network newsletter for parents and families Response Management & Student Experience
- Establish and manage systems to ensure student inquiries and responses are routed and addressed promptly and accurately
- Improve feedback loops and ensure students receive clear next steps
- Regularly monitor inbound family/supporter inquiries via the UNG Family Network Data Tracking & Optimization
- Monitor campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through, engagement, conversion)
- Conduct A/B testing to optimize messaging and delivery
- Provide regular reporting and insights to inform strategy Training & Support
- In collaboration with the Director of Student Communications Strategy, train campus partners on communication tools and best practices
- Support departments in executing communications within established frameworks
- Assist in maintaining consistency and quality across units Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Technical proficiency with CRM and communication platforms Attention to detail and execution excellence Process design and systems thinking Data analysis and optimization Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent communication and writing skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 3 years of experience in CRM management, marketing automation, or communications operations Preferred Qualifications Master's preferred Experience with Slate or similar CRM platforms strongly preferred Proposed Salary The proposed salary is: $50,957•56,052.
