Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information Office of Leadership and Community Engagement Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement as a Community Liaison on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. This position will work on-site at both Keep Statesboro - Bulloch Beautiful and The Farmers Market, but will be employed by the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement and will assist in helping agencies manage and recruit volunteers from the university. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities Connect agencies to campus resources Serve as a liaison between students and campus organizations who are looking to serve at their assigned agency Participate in various leadership development and training activities Meet regularly with OLCE and partner agency staff Assist with annual OLCE community engagement events as needed Submit weekly reports to the Coordinator of Community Engagement at Georgia Southern Performs duties that may be assigned by the agency as needed Shift Specifics Up to 10 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability Schedule includes required OLCE scheduled events and assigned community partners for events and needs Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Proven leadership ability, strong record of volunteerism and community service, with a desire to positively impact the university and the local community Experience with coordinating and managing teams/volunteers Proposed Salary $9.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
