SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Communications & Social Media Specialist supports the organization's internal and external communications by creating engaging content, managing digital communication channels, coordinating with third-party communications vendors, and analyzing social media performance. This position helps ensure consistent messaging, strengthens public engagement, and supports organizational goals through strategic communications initiatives

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Four-Year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency - general major. Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.

EXPERIENCE

Over two years, up to and including four years

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

REQUIREDBachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Two to five years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or social media management. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Experience managing social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube. Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools. Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software. Experience with website content management systems (CMS). Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and present recommendations to leadership.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Knowledge of digital marketing and social media best practices. Ability to interpret analytics and identify trends. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Customer service mindset and professionalism when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
