Job Description

The Enrollment Communications Specialist will manage, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive annual communications strategy in Slate, supporting both undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Operations, this role will serve as a Slate communications superuser and act as a bridge between the admissions and marketing team to ensure consistent SXU branding and messaging. Develop and maintain communications campaigns in Slate (email, SMS, print) Write, edit, and proofread all content for accuracy and tone Build and manage the annual communications calendar, ensuring deadlines are met Collaborate with admissions and marketing stakeholders to align messaging with branding and strategic goals Maintain documentation of communication flows and assets Manage reporting to track communication effectiveness Assist in implementing new Slate features and functionality Serve as backup to the Director of Enrollment Operations as needed Bachelor's degree required Proficiency in the use of computer technology and software in a business setting required Experience working with business processes and operations is required Excellent written communication skills (writing, editing, proofreading) Experience working in admissions, operations, or beginner-to-intermediate information technology roles Experience with Technolutions Slate or other student information systems or CRMs is highly preferred Must be highly organized and detail oriented Excellent time management skills An interest in learning and the ability to master policies, processes, and procedures quickly is essential Ability to understand and articulate complex issues and business processes Project management skills and problem-solving skills are preferred Experience or interest in learning HTML/CSS/Javascript An interest in working in a fast-paced team environment is necessary Impact of the Role The Enrollment Communications Specialist will: Ensure timely, targeted communications that move students through the funnel Improve engagement by developing dynamic, personalized campaigns Allow admissions staff to focus on recruitment and relationship-building Support operational efficiency and prevent delays due to capacity limits Maximize use of our investment in Slate capabilities to align with best practices in higher ed communications Serve as a dedicated liaison to the university's marketing team, ensuring brand consistency Allow for the Slate operations team to better identify ROI on existing vendors and purchased leads We inspire success by working together to provide meaningful, personalized service in a spirit of excellence.
