FCCSC Communications & Media Relations Coordinator 225 E 10th St, Brookville, IN 47012 $25 an hour - Part-time $25 an hour -
Part-time Hours:
Up to 40 hours/month @ $25 per hour-Timesheet will be submitted with task description.

Franklin County Community Position Summary:
The Communications & Media Relations Coordinator is responsible for promoting the positive image of FCCSC and its schools through media relations, strategic communications, and digital content. This role ensures effective messaging and storytelling across platforms by proactively engaging with the community, local media, school stakeholders, and digital audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations & Campaign Development Develop and oversee strategic media relations plans and campaigns to highlight district and school accomplishments. Write and distribute press releases, newsletters, and feature stories to local newspapers, online outlets, radio stations, and other community sources. Proactively seek editorial opportunities and coverage for school events, achievements, and student/staff recognition. School Community Collaboration Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with administrators, staff, media class students, athletic teams, school clubs/organizations, and families. Create a collaborative environment that empowers students and staff to participate in storytelling and content creation. Digital Strategy & Content Creation Assist with implementing the school corporation's integrated social media strategy and manage campaigns across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, etc.). Maintain and expand blog content and storytelling efforts on school and district websites. Help plan and produce digital content such as webcasts, reels, interviews, and recap videos. Vendor & Partner Collaboration Collaborate with outside vendors as needed, including web developers, graphic designers, photographers, video editors, printers, and others to ensure brand consistency and professional-quality output. Desired Qualities & Skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with excellent time management and attention to detail Ability to lead with creativity and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment Positive interpersonal skills; able to work with students, staff, parents, and community members with varying communication styles Familiarity with social media tools, graphic design platforms (Canva, Adobe, etc.), basic web editing, and photography/videography is a plus Hours & Flexibility Up to 40 hours per month Schedule may vary based on district needs, events, or campaign timelines; some evening or weekend availability may be requested for school functions or special events.
