Job Description

This role primarily supports the Director of Communications in developing messaging for three core audiences: retailers, players, and employees. Key responsibilities include promoting awareness and sales of Lottery products through digital channels, with a strong emphasis on social media and the Lottery's website; writing and contributing to internal and external publications, including the bi-monthly retailer magazine and the corporate intranet; and building promotions to drive product engagement. The position also involves significant interaction with Louisiana Lottery players, including responding to inquiries received via phone, email, and social media. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support telling the story of
Louisiana Lottery:
research, collect and analyze information, interview retailers, players and staff, write news releases, human interest stories and scripting for video, capture photography, and lead video production on topics like winner awareness, product announcements, player issues, responsible gaming and financial topics. Manage strategy, reporting and day-to-day of social media accounts to promote the Lottery's mission, products, promotions, retailers and winner stories. Collaborate with communications team to maintain the Lottery's website and make regular updates. Lead winner awareness efforts by maintaining the winner's lounge, coordinating regional participation, communicating with winners to support prize fulfillment and maximizing use of winner stories across video, photography, advertising, promotions, and point-of-sale materials. Utilize strong writing skills to develop stories for the bi-monthly Exchange newsletter targeting retailers: develop story ideas, track production deadlines, coordinate graphics/photos, and provide copy-editing. Support customer service functions by managing daily inquiries via email, phone, or social media, ranging from general questions to complex security concerns. Assist players with Club Lotteaux access, promotions, site features, and email communications to build and maintain program. Contribute to internal communications strategy including production of company news, HR topics, and employee-focused stories. Work with the Director of Communications, Marketing, VP of Sales, Community Relations, Regional Sales Managers, retailers, and others to meet player and retailer promotional needs. Serve as liaison with graphic design staff, Community Relations, Director of Products, and Sales to produce point-of-sale and game/promotional copy; help regularly update game and retailer-related brochures and publications. Help meet regional sales managers' special requests, such as writing regional news releases, covering events on social media, preparing presentations, and assisting with promotions. Provide administrative support to the Director of Communications and VP of Marketing. Perform other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor. Conducts routine visits to LLC regional offices, the Distribution Center, vendor sites, and retail locations to monitor security systems and verify access controls. Performs audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to operational and security protocols. Participate in on-call rotation for lottery drawing events. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Security, consistent with the scope of the position. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
