Job Description
Summary:
Plans, directs, and implements public relations, marketing and communications initiatives as delegated and assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications. Coordinates communications whether verbal, written or digital, between the constituents of UNC Health Nash and its affiliates, employees, the news media, and the general public as delegated and assigned.Responsibilities:
1. Participates in the administrative management of the department under the general direction of, and as delegated by, the Director. 2. Participates in developing and implementing a strategic plan for developing public awareness and a positive image of UNC Nash, in collaboration with the Director. 3. Plans and produces all hospital publications and audio visuals, including the UNC Health Nash website and social media channels. 4. Participates in planning, developing, producing, and evaluating publicity and promotions for UNC Nash news/sponsored outreach programs/events, as well as press releases for media. 5. Communicates with departmental and system-wide personnel at all levels, physicians, and various outside media representatives/community officials/leaders/groups and vendors to facilitate timely and effective actions and decisions. 6. Provides marketing and design support for service line marketing and other marketing and communications needs for the department and organization, including writing and content development. 7. Participates in quality improvement activities. 8. Supports and promotes the interests of UNC Nash and its subsidiaries. 9. Takes an active role in self-development. 10. Performs miscellaneous duties and other duties as assigned, as needed, to support operations and the provision of services. 11. Takes photos and videos for social media, website and external marketing campaigns. 12. All other duties to be assigned.Other Information:
Education Requirements- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
None Professional Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, advertising, or related fields.
- Knowledge of effective design and branding, project management, social media management, website management, and strong writing skills required.
- Highly organized, deadline and detail oriented, has a strong commitment to customer service, skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.), Canva and Adobe programs design and editing programs
- Graphic Design, video editing, and professional photography skills are preferred.
