Enrollment Communications Coordinator University Admissions
JOB SUMMARY
The Enrollment Communications Coordinator supports the execution of communications that drive prospective student engagement, application completion, and enrollment across undergraduate, graduate, pre-college, and Manhattan Center populations at Adelphi University. Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications and Operations, this entry-level role builds and deploys email and SMS campaigns in Slate, maintains communication workflows, and supports CRM data accuracy and event communications. The coordinator also participates in admissions events and occasional local high school visits to gain insight into student needs and inform messaging. This role strengthens operational efficiency and ensures timely, consistent communication during critical recruitment and yield periods. The anticipated start date for this position is the beginning of September.
SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $52,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University. Associate Director of Admissions Communications and Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Apply and adapt Adelphi's communication voice across audiences (undergraduate, graduate, adult learners, and families), ensuring messaging is clear, engaging, and tailored to each population. Build and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Slate, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with communication plans. Maintain communication workflows and support messaging across the enrollment lifecycle (inquiry through deposit). Assist with CRM functions including list uploads, data audits, and basic troubleshooting. Manage the communications calendar to support coordinated messaging across audiences. Build and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Slate, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Perform QA on communications, forms, and workflows to ensure proper functionality. Support communications for admissions events, including invitations, reminders, follow-ups, and RSVP tracking. Update website and partner site content to ensure accuracy and consistency. Assist with basic content creation, including email copy, text messaging, and short-form video. Participate in admissions events and occasional local high school visits to engage prospective students and inform messaging. Collaborate with admissions, financial aid, advising, and marketing teams to support communication needs. Provide general operational support, including data cleanup, reporting, and project coordination. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset when working with students, families, and campus partners. Basic design and multimedia skills, with interest or experience in creating digital and print materials. Familiarity with digital platforms (email, social media, web) and how they support communication and engagement. Ability to learn and navigate systems such as Slate or similar tools to support communications and outreach. Ability to review and interpret basic data (e.g., email performance, engagement metrics) to inform future communications. Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree is required (communications, marketing, business, or related field preferred). One to two years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, admissions, or a related field (internships and student employment welcome). Familiarity with digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, BeePro, or similar platforms) and interest in using emerging technologies, including AI tools.
