Communication Specialist Temple Israel Dayton Dayton, OH Job Details Part-time $25 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Volunteer management Graphic design Administrative experience Facebook Instagram Full Job Description The Communication Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining Temple Israel's brand, as well as developing and coordinating publicity for all synagogue programs and general public relations for the congregation effectively using all forms of communications. This position is under the direction of the Executive Director. Principle Responsibilities 1. Marketing a. Develop Innovative strategies to communicate our brand and message. b. Work effectively with volunteers to make sure all communications reflect our brand and message. c. Work with rabbinic staff, Executive Director, and lay leaders in the ongoing direction of the congregation as it pertains to its mission, vision and values. 2. Communications a. Create and design advertising and marketing materials for all Temple events and activities. b. Disseminate advertising and marketing materials to appropriate media outlets, such as the Dayton Jewish Observer, Dayton Daily News and city Paper. c. Create and design in-house communications, such as posters, flyers and program books. d. Create and manage the weekly e-newsletter, and strategically ensure that priority messaging is being effectively communicated. e. Manage creation, production, and dissemination of the monthly newsletter. f. Maintain and update Temple website and social media. g. Serve as the main contact with the website designer and staff. 3. Community Relations and Outreach a. Promote a constructive image of the synagogue at all times. b. Act as liaison and spokesperson to other Jewish organizations and to the secular community in regard to synagogue activities, media relationships and neighbor relations. c. Manage the Jewish Cultural Festival and support volunteers. i. Recruiting volunteers for the JCF committee ii. Ensuring the volunteers are on schedule. iii. Ensuring the proper permits have been filed. iv. Obtaining sponsorships. Perform other related and administrative duties as required. Qualifications
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Be well organized, and have a strong respect for accuracy and the ability to adhere to deadlines and follow through in a timely and proactive manner.
- Excellent verbal, written, and editing skills with exceptional attention to details.
- Proficient in using technology; Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press, VerticalResponse, Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom.
- Demonstrated success developing and evaluating marketing and communication mediums.
- Experience in managing volunteers.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with staff, volunteers, congregants, contractors and vendors.
- Is flexible.
