Position Department Athletics Job Summary/Basic Function Working alongside the Director of Communications, this position is responsible for providing media coverage for all programs in the athletic department. It involves overseeing the social media accounts for athletics, creating content for athletics and programs, updating the athletics website, and providing logistical and operational game-day support. This position will also provide recaps of all intercollegiate contests and special events connected with athletics and posted to the website and to social media. The position provides event coverage of all home contests and oversees select professional and student staffing. Staffing responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring students who will assist in carrying out all game-day responsibilities. This position will be responsible for working directly with coaches and teams in implementing social media and content strategies.
Essential Functions:
Produce multimedia content for all 25 intercollegiate athletic programs. Oversee, generate content, and create a strategy for all Athletics social media accounts. Work directly with coaches and programs in the creation of content. Coordinate the live streaming of all home athletic contests. Provide direction and leadership while serving as the liaison to the Red Devil Sports Network (RDSN); lead recruitment and management of RDSN students who assist in all areas of live broadcasting and media production; hire and mange professional photographers, and media freelancers as necessary. Manage student and professional staffing for game-day roles. Manage official athletic department social media accounts. Educate department staff on the release of acceptable content, and information that is consistent with our branding efforts, and those of the college. Manage athletics website, providing stories, content creation, and updates to team/roster/department/staff pages. Work with the Director of Athletic Communications to update and refresh the athletics website on a regular basis. Responsible for content creation for Dickinson College Athletics special events, such as Hall of Fame, end of year celebration, media day, and other events. Assist in general operations and logistics for special events.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree This position requires a valid driver's license for the operation of a company owned, rented or leased vehicle. 1-3 years
