BASE SALARY
$76,112 Under the direct supervision of the Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the Court, the Communications Specialist serves as the Court of Appeals representative to members of the media and public. The Communications Specialist disseminates public Court information, responds to inquiries from the media, civic organizations and the general public, and performs other related confidential duties. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Drafting case summaries for appeals to be argued before the Court and distributing them to the public.
  • Responding to inquiries from the media and public regarding cases and other matters pending before the Court.
  • Preparing daily news summaries for distribution to the Court.
  • Assisting with coordinating courthouse tours to provide educational information for schools, civic organizations, and other interested groups.
  • Assisting with coordinating special events and ceremonial functions at the Court.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
