Full Job Description Overview:
The part time (5 hours per week), hybrid Digital Communications Specialist position should focus on conceptualizing, planning, and executing digital communication efforts across web, social media, and online platforms. This individual will be responsible for helping to communicate the mission of Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church to church membership and the broader community through the creation of engaging digital content. This role is ideal for someone who is both creative and detail-oriented, stays current with digital trends, and is self-motivated to actualize a vision. We are also currently hiring an Office Administrator, and would be happy to combine the two roles for a candidate who possesses the skills to perform all duties competently. Preference will be shown to applicants who apply by August 7, 2026. Responsibilities and Functions- Create, schedule, and manage digital content across social media and other communication platforms.
- Create a monthly content calendar for pastoral approval. Consult with Pastor on church communication and branding strategies.
- Support church ministries and events with the development of social media campaigns and advertising.
- Facilitate conversations, respond to inquiries, and foster community engagement
- Manage and edit the church website through design and content creation.
- Support efforts to redesign the church website for relevance and accessibility/
- Coordinate and compose entries for church website.
- Optimize the website for user experience and accessibility.
- Help capture photo, video, graphic, and written content for digital use.
- Submit digital content to local communications platforms via press releases, press alerts, etc.
- Performs other clerical tasks as requested and authorized by the Pastor/Head of Staff.
- Experience with social media management, digital communication, or content creation.
- Experience with website design and updates.
- Strong creative, written, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with excellence and flexibility.
- A proactive, organized, and creative team player.
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography or related tools preferred.
- This role is hybrid, but the individual should expect to be onsite for significant church events in order to capture content.
Performance and Salary Reviews:
- A performance review shall be conducted annually by the Pastor/Head of Staff and/or the Personnel Committee after consultation with the Pastor.
- An annual salary review shall be conducted by the Personnel Committee after consultation with the Pastor/Head of Staff and Chair of the Finance Committee.
