The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is creating innovative solutions to improve healthcare access, quality, workforce development, and outcomes in rural communities. We are seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Communications Coordinator - Dental to support outreach, engagement, and communications efforts that advance rural oral health transformation. The Communications Coordinator will play a key role in developing and delivering communication strategies that connect dental providers, healthcare partners, community organizations, and stakeholders with program resources, learning opportunities, success stories, and transformation initiatives. Position Summary The Communications Coordinator - Dental supports the development, implementation, and coordination of communications activities for the RHTP dental initiatives. This position manages content creation, digital communications, newsletters, social media, stakeholder communications, event promotion, and storytelling efforts that highlight the impact of rural oral health transformation. Working closely with the Dental Executive Director, Community of Practice (CoP) team, Practice Transformation Specialists, trainers, and external partners, the Communications Coordinator ensures consistent, timely, and engaging communication across all program activities. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute communications plans to support RHTP dental initiatives and strategic priorities. Create and distribute newsletters, email updates, announcements, and stakeholder communications. Manage content for websites, social media platforms, digital newsletters, and other communication channels. Develop compelling stories highlighting rural dental providers, patient impact, community partnerships, and program successes. Support promotion and coordination of webinars, learning collaboratives, trainings, and Community of Practice activities. Create communication materials including flyers, presentations, fact sheets, toolkits, and program updates. Maintain communication calendars and track outreach activities. Collaborate with program leaders and subject matter experts to translate complex healthcare initiatives into clear, accessible messages. Support branding, messaging consistency, and alignment with RHTP goals and requirements. Collect, organize, and share program outcomes, testimonials, and success metrics. Assist with stakeholder engagement activities and special events. Ensure communications materials are accurate, timely, accessible, and audience-focused. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Journalism, or a related field preferred. Two to five years of experience in communications, healthcare communications, nonprofit communications, public relations, or program outreach. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Experience developing digital content, newsletters, presentations, and social media communications. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, community partners, and diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and digital communication tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting healthcare, dental, public health, or community-based initiatives. Familiarity with rural health issues, oral health access challenges, or healthcare transformation programs. Experience developing communications for grants, government-funded programs, or statewide initiatives. Basic graphic design skills and experience with design tools.
