Job Description

JOB Are you an experienced professional looking for new opportunities to further your career? Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply! Responsibilities of the
Strategic Communications Coordinator:
Responsible for development and implementation of public relations efforts, social media marketing and communication products designed to enhance awareness of and increase attendance at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. The job duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Public Relations and Media Outreach:
Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories, statements, and outreach materials that capture media interest, convey key messages succinctly, and reflect the agency's brand and voice.
Content & Messaging Management:
Lead the development of external messaging and content that represents all facets of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, aligns with the organization's brand, targets the appropriate audiences, and promotes events, programs, and initiatives.
Social Media:
Manage and develop content strategies and campaigns for our social media channels and other digital platforms.
Community and Organizational Representation:
Attend internal and external events, meetings, ceremonies, community functions, tourism initiatives, and partnership opportunities as a representative of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum to strengthen the organization's visibility, build relationships, support strategic partnerships, and enhance overall community presence.

Serve as the primary lead and accountable party for the development, coordination, and management of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum's content pipeline.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES A
bachelor's degree and professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational materials are required. Three to five years of experience in the communications field is preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to write and edit a variety of content in AP style and demonstrate strong creative writing skills to support communications, marketing, and public relations efforts, including press releases, media statements, newsletters, digital content, and other organizational messaging.

Candidate must be able to adapt writing style for both audience engagement and media purposes, crafting content that is clear, compelling, accurate, and strategically aligned.

Candidate must have a strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement across digital platforms.

Individual must possess the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, stakeholders, our community and other industry organizations.

Must be capable of developing media communications, coordinating responses to inquiries, and assisting with interview or spokesperson opportunities as needed.

Previous public relations or media experience is a plus.
