Job Description

The candidate must reside within the following county within Region 8: La Salle, Frio, Atascosa, Wilson, Karnes County or the direct surrounding areas.
PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY SJRC
Texas Community Liaison will assist the Regional Director in meting various needs of identified clients and Providers within the Belong Network and will act as a liaison between SJRC Texas, Network Providers and Community to further the success of clients in care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain knowledge of Community Based Care and transformative practices within the child and family wellbeing system. Educate Community and Network Providers about Belong and services available through SJRC Texas. Facilitate an atmosphere of enthusiasm, commitment, teamwork, interdependence and ethical behavior. Support the implementation of Belong's plan for community involvement and public engagement and provide annual reviews and updates. Identify community-based resources that can be used to facilitate coordination with Network Providers and Belong. Collaborate, share, and coordinate available resources with Program Director and program related team members to ensure unique needs of children and families are met. Implement community-building strategies that align with identified needs and objectives for youth and family support. Build relationships with community groups, organizations, and key stakeholders to foster collaboration and inclusive representation. Maintains a close working relationship with public and private agencies and stakeholders involved in providing services/support to the children and families in our network, such as CASA, Commissioners Court, Child Welfare Boards, Child Advocacy Centers, Chambers of Commerce, elected officials, etc. Organize and facilitate youth and family programs, community events, and resource coordination efforts. Participate in community-driven initiatives that support those we serve. Implement the Community Building Plan in conjunction with Regional Director. Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts. Assist Regional Director with further responsibilities as needed. Provides services after normal working hours and on weekends when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare, Social Services or related field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 3 years' experience in child welfare and community engagement.
Preferred:
5 years' experience in child welfare and community engagement.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Valid Texas Driver's License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk. Stamina to work long days and drive long distances. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 15 pounds. Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs. Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise. Position is assigned to Regional Director and is scheduled for a minimum of 40 hours per week but may necessitate additional time to complete assigned work. Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas. Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.
