Full Job Description Overview:
Accelerating the delivery of care and providing superior force health readiness across the Military, Federal, and Civilian landscapes. Summary:
The Communications Specialist shall provide senior-level communications integration and executive messaging support to the OASA (IE&E), Strategic Integration Directorate (SID). This support is focused on enterprise-level synchronization, executive communications architecture, and cross-functional message integration — not routine public affairs or social media execution.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Shall function as the principal integrator between
OASA IE&E
leadership, Army Communications Outreach Office (ACOO), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) elements and installation stakeholders to ensure unified, strategically aligned messaging across installations, energy, environment, housing and transformation initiatives. The role focuses on strategic coherence and integration, not routine public affairs.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, and digital communication platforms. Demonstrated ability to draft and edit executive-level products (talking points, speeches, correspondence, and press responses). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience support SES Flag/General Officers, or political appointees. Familiarity with DoW/Army public affairs processes and coordination requirements. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and proactively support senior leader communication priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience supporting Senior Government Officials. Experience developing and executing strategic communications in a Department of War (DoW) environment Experience coordinating with Public Affairs Offices (PAO), Congressional Affairs, and external stakeholders to align messaging. Active Tier-1 or SECRET security clearance Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $113,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually.
