Charlotte Motor Speedway is one of 11 premier facilities across the country owned and operated by Speedway Motorsports, LLC. The entertainment complex annually hosts two NASCAR weekends, two NHRA events, World of Outlaws racing, classic car shows and the Southeast's largest drive-through holiday light show, among other events. WHAT THIS INTERNSHIP ENTAILS
The Creative Content Intern will help tell the story of Charlotte Motor Speedway by creating compelling photo, video and digital content for organic social media. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience for creative storytellers who thrive behind a camera, enjoy producing engaging content while covering some of the biggest events in motorsports. This paid internship requires the Creative Content Intern to be on property approximately 30 hours during the week, with extended hours during event weekends. When not working events, the Creative Content Intern will assist the team through content creation and various social media projects/assignments. By applying for this role, you acknowledge that you will be required to work select weekends.Internship Goals:
- Create original photo and video content that supports Charlotte Motor Speedway's marketing efforts.
- Develop platform specific content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and LinkedIn.
- Gain hands on experience covering live sporting events and entertainment experiences.
- Learn how creative storytelling supports ticket sales, brand awareness and fan engagement.
- Collaborate with the social media, marketing and creative teams to bring campaigns to life.
- Learn how social media and content creation assists in achieving the goals of Charlotte Motor Speedway's marketing department.
- Build a professional portfolio through real world projects and event coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (Marketing, Communications, Sport Management majors preferred) Skills/Experience
- Strong photography and videography skills.
- Experience editing short form video (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut or similar).
- Working knowledge of mirrorless cameras or mobile content creation.
- Understanding of what makes content perform on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Strong visual storytelling skills.
- Ability to work quickly in fast paced event environments.
- Creative thinker
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Work Hours
- Fellows must be able to work an average of 25-30 hours per week. Extended hours are required on select event weekends.
