Job Description

Social Media Content Director & On-Camera Creator Watt's Right Electric Tulsa, OK Job Details Full-time $35,000 - $75,000 a year 20 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Employee discount Qualifications Photography Teamwork Final Cut Pro Adobe Premiere Instagram Full Job Description Social Media Content Director & On-Camera Creator Watt's Right Electric | Tulsa/Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Full-Time | In Person We're Not Looking for Someone to Make Boring Company Videos Watt's Right Electric is looking for a highly creative, driven content creator who can help turn our electrical company into a recognizable and entertaining social media brand. We don't want to fill our social channels with generic videos that no one watches. We want to create content people genuinely enjoy—even before they realize it came from an electrical company.
The goal is simple:
Make Watt's Right Electric one of the most recognizable, entertaining, and talked-about home-service brands on social media. We're looking for someone who can generate original ideas, capture great footage, confidently appear on camera, edit engaging videos, and build an audience across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, and emerging platforms. This is not a "wait for someone to tell you what to post" position. We need a creative driver who takes ownership, brings ideas to the table, experiments constantly, and knows how to turn everyday people and situations into content worth watching. What You'll Be Responsible For Creative Strategy Develop the overall social media and video strategy for Watt's Right Electric. Create original content ideas designed to entertain, educate, inspire, or surprise our audience. Build recurring video series, recognizable characters, challenges, stories, and content formats. Find entertaining ways to connect electrical work, our employees, our customers, and our company culture with a much broader audience. Stay current on social trends without simply copying what everyone else is doing. Study successful creators and brands to understand why their content works. Maintain a consistent content calendar across all major platforms. Video Production Plan, script, film, direct, and edit short-form and long-form video content. Visit job sites, the office, company events, and other locations to capture compelling footage. Coach electricians and team members so they feel natural and entertaining on camera. Create strong hooks that earn attention in the first few seconds. Edit videos with effective pacing, captions, music, graphics, humor, and storytelling. Repurpose content appropriately for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X, and full-length YouTube videos. Maintain organized video, photo, and creative asset libraries. On-Camera Content Be comfortable appearing in videos when the concept calls for it. Interview employees, customers, community members, and company leadership. Serve as an occasional host, narrator, interviewer, or recognizable personality for the brand. Bring energy, authenticity, humor, and confidence without making the content feel forced or overly corporate. Audience Growth and Engagement Publish content consistently across our social platforms. Write captions, titles, and descriptions that encourage people to watch, comment, and share. Engage with comments and identify opportunities to build a loyal online community. Track views, watch time, retention, shares, followers, subscribers, leads, and other meaningful results. Use performance data to improve future content. Test new formats and quickly adjust based on what the audience responds to. Help turn online attention into brand recognition, trust, recruiting opportunities, and customers. What We're Looking For You may be a filmmaker, videographer, content creator, YouTuber, social media manager, comedian, storyteller, or creative entrepreneur. Your title matters less than your ability to create content people actually want to watch.
The right person will be:
Highly creative and constantly thinking of new ideas. Entrepreneurial and motivated by building something significant. Confident behind the camera and comfortable in front of it. A strong storyteller who understands pacing, emotion, humor, and curiosity. Able to recognize ordinary moments that could become great content. Willing to experiment, take creative risks, and learn from content that doesn't perform. Self-directed, organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects. Comfortable working with tradespeople, customers, and people with different personalities. Interested in building a brand—not simply completing assigned tasks. Competitive about results while remaining collaborative and coachable. Preferred Skills Experience creating short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Video filming, lighting, audio, and editing experience. Experience with editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut. Understanding of social media analytics, audience retention, hooks, thumbnails, and platform-specific best practices. Photography and graphic-design abilities are helpful. Experience growing a personal, business, or client social media account is strongly preferred. Experience with home services or the skilled trades is helpful but not required. A traditional degree is not required. A great portfolio, proven results, strong creative instincts, and the hunger to build something exceptional will carry far more weight. How Success Will Be Measured Success in this role will not be measured simply by how many videos are produced.
We will evaluate:
Consistency and quality of published content. Audience growth across our platforms. Views, watch time, completion rates, shares, comments, and saves. Growth in brand recognition within Tulsa and beyond. Development of repeatable content series and recognizable brand personalities. Recruiting and customer opportunities influenced by our content. Your ability to continually improve results through experimentation and analysis. Why This Opportunity Is Different You won't be joining a company that wants you to post a few stock photos and generic electrical tips each week. You will have the opportunity to build a media presence around a growing company with real employees, real customers, interesting job sites, strong personalities, and countless untold stories. We want someone who looks at an electrical company and sees an unlimited creative playground. If you're successful, people won't only know Watt's Right Electric because they need an electrician. They'll know us because we consistently create content they enjoy watching. Schedule and Location This is a full-time, primarily in-person position based in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area. The role requires regular filming at our office, job sites, community events, and other locations. Some flexibility may be necessary when a great filming opportunity occurs outside normal business hours.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation:
$35,000 - $75,000 (_ based on experience _)
Benefits:
health insurance, PTO, performance incentives, equipment allowance, and other benefits Compensation should reflect experience, creative ability, portfolio quality, and demonstrated audience-growth results.

Three examples of videos you personally helped conceptualize, film, edit, or appear in. A short explanation of what you personally contributed to each example.
