Job Description

This Social Media Producer position leads the transition from broadcast focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example; creating/editing original content beyond that which is produced for on-air.

Expert understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and other social media platforms Uses our social media and website to build and reinforce brand recognition Collaborates with reporters on story construction and publication Shoots and edits content for digital Finds new ways to engage viewers through social media Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, or other functions Pitches on-brand local and trending stories Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality Builds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Social media reel Experience/education in journalism Proficiency in Premier Pro, Photoshop, Canva, Capcut, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred Highly motivated and able to work independently while meeting deadlines Maintains positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments Responds positively to feedback
