Full Job Description Overview:
Web Content Specialist:
Bowhead is seeking a Web Content Specialist for an upcoming effort in McLean, VA. This effort establishes and implements policy, budget, program management, and administrative mechanisms to support nationwide research, development, and technology program. This effort also develops and executes a comprehensive RD&T communications and marketing strategy to promote research and technology initiatives. The Web Content Specialist must have experience in writing and editing, documentation, writing/editing effective training materials, using a presentation app, providing quality control of data/content, and presenting outreach training to staff.
Responsibilities:
The position edits content, manages any reviews needed Use the Content Management Systems (CMS) to upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites and intranets. Optimizing text for SEO and ensuring all web pages are compliant with federal accessibility laws (Section 508). Coordinate the Agency's quarterly certification process for up-to-date information. Use graphic applications to crop, recolor, resize, and manipulate web images when needed. Coordinate processes and procedures. Section 508 web accessibility testing (not just compliance awareness). NARA/records management GovDelivery support. Bowhead is seeking to connect with qualified individuals regarding a potential opportunity, contingent upon contract award and not currently funded. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or in a related discipline. 5-7 years of experience in web content management, 3 of which shall be within the last 5 years. Web experience is required. Drupal, SharePoint, and Google Sites Database content (not programming) would be helpful. Transportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
