Position Number FP177A Location Norfolk, VA Job Summary The Social Media and Digital Content Producer on the Campus Enrollment Marketing team leads the day-to-day social media presence for campus enrollment marketing and creates timely, platform-native content that strengthens awareness, engagement, and enrollment. The position manages organic social channels and editorial planning while producing accessible short-form video, photography, graphics, and written content centered on prospective students and their supporters. Working across the Division, this role translates recruitment priorities into an integrated social content calendar, publishes and monitors content, engages audiences, and uses performance data to improve results. The position independently produces agile, social-first content and partners within the Growth Marketing team, University Communications, and vendors when campaigns require specialized or high-production execution.Hiring Range:
$75,000-$80,000 , commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, journalism, or a related field. Or related education, training, and professional experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the proceeding fields. Demonstrated experience managing organizational social media channels, including editorial calendars, scheduling, publishing, community engagement, and performance reporting. Strong knowledge of platform-native practices for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, ZeeMee, Campus ESP and emerging channels, including audience behavior, formats, trends, and accessibility requirements. Ability to create agile social content using photography, mobile or DSLR video, basic lighting and audio, and non-linear editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or comparable software. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate academic and admissions information into clear, engaging, student-centered social content and calls to action. Ability to manage a high-volume content calendar and multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, with strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail. Demonstrated collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders, including admissions counselors, faculty, students, leadership, creative professionals, and external partners. Working knowledge of social media analytics, social listening, platform management tools, brand standards, accessibility, copyright, privacy, and ethical communication practices. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-campus and local content capture. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing social media for higher education, enrollment, admissions, student recruitment, or another audience-driven organization. Experience developing and executing social media strategies that increase reach, engagement, audience growth, website traffic, inquiries, applications, or other measurable outcomes. Experience with social media management and listening tools, Meta Business Suite, paid and organic social coordination, digital asset management, and basic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva. Experience coordinating social media takeovers, creators, and user-generated content, and familiarity with crisis escalation and time-sensitive communications protocols. Master's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, journalism, or a related field. Or a Bachelor's degree with related education and professional experience equivalent to a master's degree in the proceeding fields.
