Digital Content Producers in our newsroom create and edit content on multiple platforms, including our website, social media pages and news app. They work closely with the Digital Content Manager and News Director to ensure we are breaking news on our digital platforms and leading the way with the most accurate and compelling coverage.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Write, edit and publish breaking news, daily news and sports stories for the station's website, mobile app and social media pages
  • Curate the station's homepage with the latest news stories
  • Manage livestreams on the station's website
  • Produce digital-only content for our website and social media pages, especially YouTube
  • Clip relevant video from broadcasts and attach to news articles and social media pages
  • Repurpose broadcast content to create engaging digital assets, with focus on vertical video formats like YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels
  • Collaborate with reporters to develop additional digital content that complements on-air stories, including web extras
  • Send push alerts for important news, weather and sports articles
  • Basic news gathering skills, including making calls on breaking news
  • Use digital platforms to reinforce brand and drive viewers to television
  • Contribute ideas to help grow the station's digital platforms
Requirements:
A college degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or related field is preferred. This job requires excellent writing skills, including knowledge of AP-style writing for digital news sites or newspapers and experience with social media best practices. Experience in video editing and creating content for social media is required.
