JOB SUMMARY
As a Market Research Analyst within the product management team, this role will be part of a team ensuring the delivery of impactful and high-value programs for Northeastern University. The responsibilities include executing project management leadership, primary and secondary market research, providing insights for initiative design, and conducting thorough job market, skills, competitor and pricing analysis. This role will also support new product design sessions, ensuring stakeholders have the actionable insights, visuals and engagements to design innovative program offerings for the university. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required Experience performing fundamental analysis and report-writing, as well as user research synthesis Proven project management and analysis capabilities Ability to present complex topics clearly and concisely Experience collaborating deeply with teammates to deliver on-time high quality outputs Experience executing agile, human-centered design and lean start-up methodologies Ability to plan and successfully execute multiple projects with conflicting priorities and concurrent deadlines in a dynamic environment Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written) Clear thinker who can seek out and identify key data themes and distill the findings into actionable strategies, tactics and solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills A drive/sense of ownership related to continuous improvement Highly numerate with a keen eye for detail; comfortable with performing various types of data analysis Experience in a field closely aligned with experiential learning and higher education preferred Proven ability to effectively use AI tools for research and analysis/ demonstrated ability to effectively incorporate AI tools into workflows, including effective prompting, auditing outputs, etc. Experience independently providing consultative problem-solving aptitude to cross functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Market Research and Analysis Conduct Primary and Secondary Research:
Execute comprehensive market research to gather relevant data on industry trends, customer preferences, and market opportunities. Utilize various research methodologies to collect data. Synthesize findings to extract actionable insights.
Job Market and Skills Analysis:
Analyze current job market trends and identify essential skills required in the industry to inform program design. Monitor and report on emerging job market trends. Identify skills gaps and opportunities for new program development.
Competitor and Pricing Analysis:
Conduct thorough analysis of competitors and their pricing strategies to ensure competitive positioning of university programs. Evaluate competitor offerings and strategies. Analyze pricing models and recommend pricing strategies for new programs. Produce report outs/presentations that synthesize a diverse set of factors, such as market demand, relative pricing, competitive dynamics, program features, economics, logistical realities and other practical considerations into recommendations that are distilled and coherent. Support Program Design and Stakeholder Engagement Support new product design sessions by preparing and presenting research findings and insights. Provide stakeholders with necessary data, visuals, and engagement tools to make informed decisions. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement materials Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders. Work closely with team members to deliver high-quality outputs on time. Provide administrative support to the new product management team as necessary. This includes but is not limited to scheduling meetings and interviews, note-taking and synthesis, meeting planning and logistics. Independently provide consultative problem-solving aptitude to the IPD team as they endeavor to offer market intelligence and recommendations to the University. This includes proactive project support to aid the completion of multi-step, multi-participant projects. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement materials. Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders. Work closely with team members to deliver high-quality outputs on time. Provide administrative report to the new product management team as necessary. This includes but is not limited to scheduling meetings and interviews, note-taking and synthesis, meeting planning and logistics. Independently provide consultative problem-solving aptitude to the IPD team as they endeavor to offer market intelligence and recommendations to the University. Continuous Improvement Show a strong sense of ownership and dedication to continuous improvement in processes and outcomes. Synthesize project lessons learned for the team to reflect on and develop action plans for improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation. Research new tools, technology, etc. to make recommendations to improve team process efficiency and/or efficacy. $60,315.00 - $85,192.50 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
