We support our member companies, the construction industry, and policy makers through applied research, data-driven insights, and technical expertise. Our work helps shape safe, sustainable, and innovative building practices across North America and beyond. The Opportunity APA is seeking a Market Research Analyst to support the collection, analysis, and reporting of industry production data and market intelligence. This fully remote role is ideal for a detail-oriented analyst who enjoys turning data into insights, working collaboratively with internal and external partners, and contributing to industry-wide research and outlook publications. You will work closely with the Vice President of Economic Analysis and Market Research, supporting high-visibility reports, outlooks, and data products used by APA members, manufacturers, analysts, and industry stakeholders. What You Will Do Collect, maintain, and audit quarterly and annual production data for engineered wood products across the U.S., Canada, and international member plants Prepare quarterly production and market reports, including imports, exports, and apparent consumption calculations Build and maintain strong contacts with manufacturers and mills to ensure timely, accurate data collection Prepare quarterly Glulam Market Analysis reports Support industry research inquiries from members, consultants, and analysts Assist with APA's social media presence by drafting and scheduling posts that highlight research findings and industry trends Support development of the Fall and Spring Outlook and Yearbook publications by formatting data tables, charts, and narrative materials. Monitor housing starts, construction activity, competing materials, and macroeconomic indicators Maintain organized electronic files, proof documents, draft correspondence, and provide general administrative support as needed
Requirements:
What You Will Bring Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, statistics, or related field 3-5 years of relevant experience in business, government, research, or a related environment Knowledge of forest products or manufacturing industry is a plus Skills & Expertise Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and chart creation Proficiency with PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to interpret technical data and present information clearly to diverse audiences Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines Interest in supporting applied research and market analysis Demonstrated ability to develop and execute social media content strategies that amplify research outputs, grow audience engagement, and increase institutional visibility Work Environment & Physical Demands This is a fully remote, primarily sedentary position performed in a typical home or remote office setting. The role involves prolonged computer use, frequent keyboarding, and regular communication via video meetings, phone, and email.
