- Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions.
Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Temporary Full-Time Other Conditions:
Position is a temporary casual hire position and offers no benefits, hours not to exceed 40 hours per week. 89 day appointment. Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Marketing Director, aid in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the UH student loyalty app. Build a point value system for UH Athletics rewards. Create a prize structure for UH Athletics rewards and order the prizes for games. Responsible to order prizes and maintain a proper inventory control system. Assist with promoting prize and game information to UH Students. Implement plans and strategies for marketing the app to students. Create advertising content for the app. Execute social media posts to aid in promotion of upcoming UH Athletics related events. Responsible to work scheduled UH Athletics related events to promote UH Athletics which may require flexible work availability during nights, weekends and holidays. Assists with the recruitment of student workers (i.e. paid, interns, volunteers). Oversee and manage student workers on a day to day basis. Demonstrate a positive and professional working attitude and maintain a collaborative working relationships with the coaching staff, team members, support staff, administrators in the UH Athletics Department, internal and external organizations, groups, and individuals and appropriate relationships with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in Athletics. Maintains confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawaii policies. Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University of Hawaii and its employees, and the rules of the NCAA and affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advises the Director of Athletics or designee if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Some experience working for a company or organization in marketing, advertising, and/or sales. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain e?ective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals. Ability to work cooperatively and e?ectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to exercise discretion and sound analyses to a variety of administrative support, program management or related issues. Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
