About Georgetown Prep Founded in 1789 by the Society of Jesus, Georgetown Preparatory School is America's oldest Catholic boarding and day school for young men. Our communications team plays a vital role in telling that story to both our local, national and international community. Position Overview Georgetown Preparatory School seeks a talented, mission-driven Marketing & Communications Associate to support the day-to-day communications needs of the school. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this position plays a key supporting role in crafting and distributing content across email, web, and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, a careful editor, an attentive listener, and someone who understands — and is energized by — the mission of Catholic and Jesuit education. Key Responsibilities Email & Newsletter Communications
  • Draft, edit, and distribute mass email communications to parents, alumni, students, and the broader school community
  • Manage the production calendar for weekly and seasonal newsletters
  • Maintain consistency of voice, tone, and brand across all written communications
  • Proofread all outgoing communications for accuracy, grammar, and style Website
  • Update and maintain school website content on a regular basis
  • Coordinate with department heads and administrators to ensure content is current and accurate
  • Write and post news stories, event recaps, and announcements
  • Support basic content management system (CMS) updates and uploadsSocial Media
  • Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content across Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms
  • Capture and write captions for school events, student achievements, and institutional milestones
  • Help maintain a consistent and compelling social media presence that reflects the school's mission and valuesGeneral Communications Support
  • Attend school events to gather content, photos, and stories
  • Collaborate closely with the Admissions, Advancement, and Academic departments on communications needs
  • Support the Head of Marketing & Communications on special projects, campaigns, and institutional messaging Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or a related role
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong listening skills, active collaborator, and the ability to translate conversations and ideas into polished written content
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Veracross, or similar)
  • Basic proficiency with website content management systems
  • Comfortable with social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook
  • Collaborative, positive, and adaptable team player
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced school environment
  • A background in Catholic or Jesuit education — as a student, employee, or both — is strongly preferred
  • A genuine understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of Jesuit education Preferred but Not Required
  • Experience with photography or basic video editing
  • Familiarity with Finalsite or similar school CMS platforms
  • Experience working in an independent, Catholic, and/or Jesuit school environment This Position Is a Strong Fit For Someone Who
