Job Description

The American Academy of Functional Health provides educational and certification training in Functional, integrative, nutritional, and herbal medicine to healthcare providers. We are a growing online academy, and we are looking for a motivated, tech-savvy Marketing & Operations Assistant to help us reach more healthcare providers and support our community. This is a hands-on marketing role : most of your time will be spent on email campaigns, landing pages, social media, webinars, and marketing analytics — with a smaller portion of the role supporting day-to-day academy operations such as student communications, certificates, and enrollment records. The ideal candidate has marketing experience or a marketing degree, learns new software quickly, writes well, is comfortable with Facebook, YouTube, and analytics tools, and is excited to use modern AI tools to create content and campaigns faster. You will work directly with the Educational Director and our student advisor and sales team, and you will see the direct impact of your work on enrollment and growth.
Pay:
$24-$35 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type:
Part-time, with the opportunity to expand to full-time.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00

Paid training provided What You'll Be Doing Writing, scheduling, and sending email campaigns and SMS reminders for classes, webinars, and promotions Creating and updating landing pages, registration pages, offers, and checkout pages — and keeping dates, prices, and links accurate Creating and scheduling social media posts and short videos for Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and supporting Facebook ad campaigns Setting up and supporting live webinars, workshops, and summits (registration, reminders, and live pages) Publishing podcasts, videos, and articles to our apps, websites, and channels, and maintaining our weekly newsletter Using AI tools to create content and campaigns faster — we will train you on our tools Assisting the Educational Director and working closely with our videographers
What We're Looking For:
Marketing experience or a marketing degree (hands-on experience with campaigns, social media, or email marketing will be considered) Strong writing skills and clear, friendly, professional communication Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on deadlines and recurring tasks Tech-savvy and quick to learn new software, including AI tools — comfortable with Facebook, YouTube, basic analytics, and Google Workspace Reliable and able to work independently, take ownership, and manage multiple projects at once
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in marketing, marketing operations, social media management, email marketing, or digital campaigns Experience with Kajabi, GoHighLevel, Beehiiv, Canva, Zoom, StreamYard, Meta Ads Manager, Google Workspace, Slack, or similar platforms Experience with AI content tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or AI video/design tools) Experience with basic website or landing-page updates Basic video editing or graphic design skills are a plus but are not required Experience with an online school, healthcare organization, training company, or continuing-education provider Familiarity with Functional Medicine, integrative health, or healthcare education is helpful but not required A college degree is not required. We are primarily looking for someone who is experienced with marketing, friendly, dependable, technically capable, highly organized, and eager to learn.
Requirements:
Availability to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Other hours can be discussed. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation Ability to work in our Portland office Ability to use stairs, stand for short periods of time, and prepare, pack, and organize small boxes and educational materials, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to handle confidential student and payment-related information professionally Employment may be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check
