Salem, Oregon Position Summary Harmony Fresh Seafoods is seeking a creative, organized, and hands-on Marketing Assistant to support the development and execution of the company's marketing strategy. This role will work closely with the Director of Marketing to turn marketing plans and ideas into consistent, high-quality content and campaigns. While the Marketing Assistant will have opportunities to contribute ideas and help shape future initiatives, the primary focus of the position will be executing the established marketing plan. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating social media content, taking photos and videos, telling employee and company stories, coordinating marketing projects, and working directly with team members in both office and production environments. Key Responsibilities Content Creation and Social Media Create, schedule, and publish social media content across the company's platforms. Develop posts that highlight Harmony's products, employees, customers, company culture, production processes, and community involvement. Take photos and videos at Harmony's production facility, office, events, trade shows, and other company activities. Edit short-form videos, photos, graphics, and written content for social media and other marketing uses. Maintain a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and posting schedule. Monitor social media engagement and assist with responding to comments and messages when appropriate. Identify opportunities to repurpose content across multiple platforms. Employee and Company Storytelling Coordinate and create employee highlights, team introductions, milestone recognition, and behind-the-scenes features. Interview employees and help communicate their roles, accomplishments, and contributions to the company. Capture stories that demonstrate Harmony's culture, values, production standards, and commitment to quality. Assist with internal company updates, newsletters, announcements, and employee communications. Marketing Plan Execution Support the Director of Marketing in carrying out established marketing campaigns and priorities. Help maintain marketing calendars, project timelines, content schedules, and campaign checklists. Coordinate with sales, production, quality, and leadership to gather information and materials needed for marketing projects. Assist with product launches, retailer announcements, promotions, events, trade shows, and community partnerships. Help prepare marketing materials such as sales sheets, presentations, flyers, digital graphics, signage, and promotional materials. Ensure assigned projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Brand and Asset Management Organize and maintain the company's library of photos, videos, logos, product images, templates, and other marketing assets. Help ensure that company materials follow established brand guidelines. Coordinate the ordering and inventory of promotional items, printed materials, samples, and event supplies. Assist with basic updates to the company website and online business listings. Review marketing materials for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and brand consistency. Marketing Support and Reporting Track basic performance indicators such as social media growth, engagement, content performance, website activity, and campaign results. Research relevant content ideas, industry trends, competitors, retailers, and customer interests. Provide regular updates on completed projects, upcoming content, and marketing needs. Contribute creative ideas while remaining focused on the company's established goals and priorities. Perform other marketing and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience or education in marketing, communications, social media, graphic design, photography, videography, or a related field is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take quality photos and videos using a smartphone or camera. Experience creating and editing social media content. Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, or similar channels. Basic experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or other design and video-editing tools is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Comfortable working independently while following an established marketing strategy and approval process. Willingness to work in office, production, warehouse, retail, and event environments as needed. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with employees, customers, vendors, and community partners. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Ability to occasionally lift and transport marketing materials, event supplies, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Some travel between company locations, customer locations, trade shows, and community events may be required. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for events or content opportunities.
