JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Educate students on accessing Wellness Center services. Provide general reception, answer phone, and assist students with appointments as needed. Assist Office Manager and other staff with clerical operations (e.g., copies, email, fax, scanning, transcribing documents, catering orders, etc.)
Support WC staff and peer educators as needed with health promotion efforts.
Engage in special projects assigned by WC staff.
Perform other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned. Work with Peer Wellness Educators on events and promotional efforts like setup, social media marketing and logistics and planning
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Confidentiality training and agreement (upon hiring)
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Oral and written communication skills
Basic MS Office skills such as Excel and Word
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Project coordination skills
Experience in a healthcare setting and/or basic understanding of healthcare resources
Aptitude for design and messaging (e.g., virtual flyers, brochures, infographics)
Knowledge and comfort with use of social media platforms
Social Media marketing, communication, and management
Experience using Canva and other software tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
Comfort with public speaking and engagement both formal (e.g., presentations) and informal (e.g., tabling event)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree
Enrolled at least part-time in a degree-seeking Dominican University graduate program A background screening is required
OFFICE HOURS AND SCHEDULE
The center operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Due to the nature of the work, this position requires the Graduate Assistant to be primarily on-site. Requests for partial remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis with prior approval.
