Job Description

Overview:
Mount Marty University, a Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts institution sponsored by the Sisters of SacredHeart Monastery, invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in Business with expertise in Marketing. Located in Yankton, South Dakota, Mount Marty seeks a teacher-scholar or an accomplished practitioner who will serve as a primary facultymember for marketing within the Business program. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Thesuccessful candidate will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching, the ability to connect marketing theory tocontemporary practice for a broad range of students, and sustained professional or scholarly activity that enriches classroominstruction. Mount Marty welcomes applications from candidates early in their academic careers and from those moving into teachingfrom professional practice. New faculty are supported by the university's Teaching and Learning Center, which provides mentoring,instructional design assistance, and ongoing development for colleagues new to the classroom. Key Responsibilities:
Teach the breadth of the marketing curriculum at theundergraduate level, including areas such as principles of marketing, consumer behavior, digital and social media marketing, and marketingresearch, along with foundational business courses required across the program, at a load of twelve credit hours persemester. Contribute to course offerings in adjacent areas such as Economics, Operations Management, Information Systems, and HumanResource Management as institutional need requires. Coordinate course scheduling with the Registrar's Office and participate inongoing program assessment. Provide academic advising to Business majors and support student professional development, internships,and career preparation. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Business Department and across the university to support missionintegration in the curriculum. Contribute actively to the intellectual and communal life of the university through departmental andinstitutional service.
Qualifications:
Education:
An earned doctorate in Business Administration,Marketing, or a closely related field is preferred by time of appointment. Candidates who are ABD will be considered provided all doctoralrequirements are completed in the fall of 2027. Candidates holding a master's degree in Business Administration or a related field togetherwith substantial professional experience in marketing will also be given full consideration. Commitment to

Demonstrated effectiveness or clear promise as an undergraduate teacher, with the ability, or evident capacity to develop the ability, tomake marketing concepts accessible and compelling to a diverse student body and to connect classroom learning to currentpractice.
Professional and Scholarly Activity:
Evidence of continuing scholarly work, professional practice, or appliedengagement in the discipline appropriate to an undergraduate teaching institution.
Mission Alignment:
Commitment in principleand practice to Mount Marty University's mission as a Catholic and Benedictine university rooted in the liberal arts.
BenedictineCharism:
Capacity to integrate Benedictine practices of hospitality, attentive listening, communal searching for truth, and the balanceof work and prayer into teaching and academic citizenship.
