Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing Emory, VA 24327 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Faculty Job Shift First Education Level Post Graduate Degree Category Education Apply Description Position Purpose (Essential Functions) The School of Business at Emory & Henry University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, 9-month faculty position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will join a growing, student-centered team including one of the most popular undergraduate majors on campus. We are dedicated to preparing students for success in a dynamic and rapidly changing marketplace. We seek a colleague who is passionate about teaching and mentoring students in both traditional and nontraditional settings, and who is committed to innovation, collaboration, and community engagement. Most importantly, we seek applicants with creativity and vision to support our development of a uniquely ethical and place-based business program. Duties and Responsibilities Deliver and develop courses in undergraduate marketing and related areas in the Media and Communication Major and Minor as well as the School of Business' MBA program, to include marketing, strategic communication, consumer behavior, branding, AI, analytics, and strategic marketing management. Collaborate with other academic units in the School of Business, such as Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Business Administration Contribute to curriculum development, including new courses, concentrations, and experiential learning opportunities. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, supporting academic and professional development. Actively engage in service to the School of Business, University, and broader community. Participate in program assessment, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain involvement in scholarship, professional development, and/or applied industry practice, as appropriate.
Required Education & Experience Required:
Ph.D. in Marketing, Communication, or another relevant field from an accredited institution. If the Ph.D. is in a closely related field, an ideal candidate will also have significant coursework, research, and/or industry practice in marketing. (Degree in hand or completed by position start date, no ABD.) Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college or university level.
Preferred:
MBA in addition to the Ph.D. Experience teaching in online or hybrid modalities. Commitment to mentoring diverse populations, including first-generation, adult, online, and international students. Working and Environmental Conditions Work is primarily performed in a professional office or classroom setting. Physical Characteristics and Requirements The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while teaching, attending meetings, or working at a computer. Must be able to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds Requires frequent movement between offices, classrooms, and meeting spaces across campus.
