The Director of Marketing Strategy and Planning is a critical leadership role that sits at the center of how our marketing organization thinks, plans, and operates. As the Director of Marketing Strategy and Planning, you will serve as a strategic partner to the SVP Worldwide Marketing and the broader marketing leadership team to shape strategy, drive integrated planning cycles, and ensure seamless coordination across functions. Responsibilities Your work will span three core areas: Lead the development and articulation of Apple Marketing's annual and multi-year strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and business objectives Identify trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities that should shape how Apple marketing evolves Partner with product marketing, brand, and PR teams to develop cohesive strategies for priority initiatives Synthesize inputs from across the organization into a unified point of view that guides decision-making and resource allocation Own and drive the quarterly and annual marketing planning process, including goal setting, initiative prioritization, and budget coordination across all marketing functions Establish and maintain a rhythm of business for the marketing organization, including operating cadences, leadership reviews, and strategic planning meetings Identify dependencies and gaps across teams and proactively drive alignment to keep plans on track Serve as a connective tissue across functions, ensuring that plans are integrated, sequenced, and set up for successful execution Prepare strategic briefings, presentations, and recommendations for the SVP Worldwide Marketing and senior leadership Track progress against strategic priorities and surface risks or opportunities to leadership in a timely and actionable way Support the SVP Worldwide Marketing in preparing for board-level and executive team engagements related to marketing performance and direction Minimum Qualifications 12+ years of experience in marketing strategy, business planning, management consulting, or a related field, ideally within a complex, matrixed organization Proven track record of developing marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information and distill it into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across diverse functions Strong analytical and financial acumen; comfortable working with data, budgets, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions Preferred Qualifications MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field strongly preferred. Experience working in or with consumer technology, media, or premium brand environments is a strong plus Comfort working across time zones and in a globally distributed organization A collaborative, low-ego working style with a genuine commitment to the success of the team over individual recognition Passion for Apple's products, values, and mission Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with competing priorities Proficiency in building executive-level presentations and strategy documents that drive decision-making Bachelor's degree required Experience operating at the intersection of brand, product marketing, demand generation, and PR Deep experience leading cross-functional and cross-geo planning processes, including annual planning, goal setting, and portfolio prioritization Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $268,400 and $428,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
