(PROVERBS 27) SUMMARY This role provides creative leadership and direction for the visual brand of Wellspring Church across communications strategy, ensuring all messaging supports the church's vision, ministry goals, and organizational priorities. Oversees church-wide communication channels, campaigns, content development, paid advertising, and audience engagement while maintaining consistent brand standards. Collaborates with ministry leaders and creative teams to deliver effective communication projects, analyze performance, improve engagement, and develop staff and volunteers.
Requirements:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a vital member of the ministry team, you will work closely with the other members of the team to: Lead the church's overall marketing and communications strategy to support vision, ministry goals, and organizational priorities. Own all church-wide communication channels, including email, text messaging, web, and promotional campaigns. Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and communication journeys that drive engagement and next steps. Manage church-wide text messaging strategy for announcements, reminders, promotions, and engagement initiatives. Serve as the primary copywriter for campaigns, ministry promotions, leadership communications, web content, and key church messaging. Write vision-casting scripts and campaign messaging for senior leadership, weekend services, major initiatives, and special events. Partner with ministry leaders to create and execute marketing plans that increase awareness, participation, and engagement. Establish communication channel ownership and audience segmentation strategies across ministries to ensure clarity, consistency, and effectiveness. Plan, launch, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms. Manage the annual communications calendar, coordinating promotional priorities across departments and ministries. Collaborate with creative, video, design, and production teams to develop compelling campaign assets and storytelling content. Analyze campaign performance and engagement metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Maintain brand standards and messaging consistency across all church communications. Lead communication workflows, project timelines, and approval processes to ensure projects are delivered on time and with excellence. Recruit, develop, and lead volunteers or team members supporting marketing and communications initiatives. Stay current on marketing trends, communication best practices, and emerging digital platforms. Success Measures Church-wide communications are clear, timely, accurate, and aligned with the church's vision and brand. Email, text messaging, website, and promotional campaigns demonstrate increased engagement and participation. Ministry leaders receive effective communication plans and support for events, programs, and initiatives. Communication projects are completed on time, within scope, and through established approval processes. Audience segmentation and channel strategies improve message relevance and reduce communication overload. Paid advertising campaigns achieve established reach, engagement, registration, or attendance goals. Campaign performance is regularly measured, reported, and used to improve future communication strategies. Brand voice, messaging, and visual standards remain consistent across departments and communication channels. Annual communication calendars are maintained and promotional priorities are coordinated effectively. Volunteers and team members are recruited, developed, and equipped to support marketing and communication goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in marketing and communications. Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms. Demonstrated ability to create compelling copy, campaign messaging, leadership communications, and promotional content. Experience managing communication calendars, project timelines, approval processes, and multiple priorities. Ability to collaborate effectively with ministry leaders, creative teams, staff, volunteers, and external partners. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with church ministry environments and an understanding of how communications support discipleship, engagement, and organizational goals. Commitment to the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Wellspring Church. A heart for ministry and a desire to use creativity to support the mission and vision of Wellspring Church. Ability to create content that helps people engage with the church and take next steps in their faith journey.
Physical requirements:
Constant periods of sitting and repetitive motions. Occasionally able to lift or move up to 20lbs and standing or walking.
