Translates complex technology into value propositions, use cases, technical content, collateral, and presentations for academic, government, and industry audiences. Tracks scientific and commercial developments, shapes competitive messaging, validates technical accuracy, represents the company at industry events, secures speaking opportunities, and develops strategic relationships with customers, partners, and quantum ecosystem leaders. We are seeking a Technical Marketing Director to sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and marketing. Your job is to translate Atom's technology and products into clear, compelling value for academic, government, and industry stakeholders with various levels of technical expertise. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of quantum technologies and what it takes to build a full-stack quantum computer. By creating compelling technical content and engaging with customers, ecosystem partners, and key stakeholders, this position plays a crucial role in elevating both the company's regional and global presence. We are seeking candidates who are willing and able to travel up to 35% of time. Job Responsibilities Product & Technical Expertise Develop deep understanding of how Atom's technology works to accurately represent product capabilities, competitive positioning, and roadmap. Track the latest scientific, engineering, and commercial developments across the industry to effectively analyze the landscape and shape messaging. Establish and maintain relationships with customers and partners, understand stakeholder needs, and translate feedback into offering improvements. Industry & Ecosystem Engagement Represent the company at regional and global events such as conferences, technology forums, and industry consortia. Secure strategic opportunities to speak about Atom and participate in relevant panel discussions that raise the company's profile. Foster collaborations and partnership opportunities by identifying and engaging with quantum champions within academia, government, and industry. Marketing & Communications Define value propositions, use cases, and technical differentiators and help to turn these into compelling content such as tutorials, blog posts, or whitepapers. Support the development of marketing and sales collateral, including marketing materials, infographics, videos, presentations, and digital assets. Validate messaging to ensure that it is technically accurate and effectively communicates with diverse audiences. Experience & Education PhD degree in a science or engineering field 5+ years of experience, preferably with exposure to the quantum industry. Qualifications Expertise in quantum technologies, including a deep understanding of the business and technology landscape, the ability to synthesize key conclusions from relevant scientific publications, and familiarity with all levels of a full-stack quantum computer. Proven written, visual, and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for audiences with various levels of technical expertise. Strong ability to create data-driven analysis and generate compelling narratives that highlight technical innovation and differentiation. Ability to proactively cultivate strategic relationships with leaders in industry, academia, and government to advance shared objectives. Willingness and ability to travel (up to 35%).
