Overview Marketing Manager reports to David Geffen School of Drama at Yale/Yale Repertory Theatre (DGSD/YRT) Director of Marketing & Communications, including day-to-day direction from the Senior Associate Director of Marketing & Communications .
Develops strategies and plans for:
integrated social media and electronic marketing campaigns for DGSD/YRT, YRT
audience development, and single ticket campaigns for DGSD. Essential Duties:
1. Develops and implements overarching social media plans for YRT and DGSD. 2.Serves as graphic designer for print, digital, and email communications. Designs and deploys email marketing and other communications for YRT and DGSD. Applies artistic sensibilities while adhering to branding guidelines and graphic designer's creative vision. Tests and performs quality assurance on all output. Serves as liaison to Web Technology Department regarding emails and email best practices. 3. Provide editorial support for department, including copy writing, editing, proofreading. 4. Develops overarching marketing strategies pertaining to DGSD productions and initiatives and manages DGSD Single Ticket expense and revenue budgets. 5. In conjunction with Director of Marketing & Communication builds and maintains relationships with Yale and New Haven community organizations and groups; manages and hosts YRT audience development and audience engagement events, on and off site. Manages and oversees opening night parties for the Yale Rep shows and other special events. 6. Develops, manages, and maintains the DGSD/YRT
media library. Includes identifying people and productions in the photos, tagging and updating metadata, archiving, and uploading and testing the libraries in various viewers. Along with Web Services, determines future needs and applications for the media library. Also maintains the process manual and trains students to use the systems. 7. Maintains DGSD professional names list and electronic biography files for all students, faculty, and staff for programs and other various purposes in the department and throughout the institution. 8. In the absence of Publications Manager, covers all aspects of that portfolio. 9. Mentors and trains students. Provide feedback on students' performance to appropriate supervisors. 10. And other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing & Communications. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Strong self-starter who excels in a team environment. Strongly demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, proofreading, and editing skills. Strongly demonstrated thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail. Preferred Skills and Abilities Tessitura experience Principal Responsibilities 1. Contributes to client meetings to define parameters of projects. 2. Provides graphic design services centrally to the University community or specific school/department maintaining established design standards and practices. 3. Ensures client's needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner 4. Gives input to the development of guidelines and procedures for the University graphic publications. 5. Makes determinations regarding typography, pictorial images, color, paper stock, etc. for projects; recommendations regarding the necessity and selection of outside consultants/designers and printing services. 6. Contributes to the development of guidelines and procedures for the University graphic publications. 7. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design. Three year of graphic design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
