Job Description
Summary The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the marketing, branding, communications, and event strategy across the Manatt's Family of Businesses (MFB). The role provides enterprise leadership for marketing initiatives that strengthen the organization's brands, support business development, enhance employee engagement, and promote a consistent identity across all operating companies. The Director of Marketing partners closely with executive leadership and operating companies to develop marketing strategies, manage enterprise communications, coordinate company events, and ensure brand consistency while supporting the unique business objectives of each operating company. This role serves as the enterprise marketing resource for the MFB, balancing enterprise-wide initiatives with operating company support to strengthen the organization's reputation, culture, and market presence. Enterprise Marketing Strategy Develop and implement enterprise marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives Support operating company marketing initiatives while maintaining consistency with enterprise brand standards Partner with executive leadership to identify marketing priorities that support growth, recruiting, customer engagement, and organizational visibility Evaluate marketing performance and recommend improvements based on measurable outcomes Brand Management & Communications Maintain and strengthen the MFB and operating company brands Ensure consistent use of branding, messaging, and visual identity across all marketing materials Lead enterprise employee communications and organizational messaging Develop content for internal and external communications Develop and maintain enterprise brand standards and marketing guidelines Digital Marketing & Media Oversee websites, social media platforms, and digital marketing initiatives Coordinate digital advertising and online engagement strategies Monitor digital performance metrics and recommend improvements Evaluate emerging communication technologies and marketing trends Enterprise Events & Community Engagement Lead planning, coordination of enterprise meetings, leadership events, employee recognition programs, community events, and other MFB-sponsored activities Coordinate marketing support for recruiting events, career fairs, customer appreciation events, and industry conferences Manage event branding, communications, promotional materials, and vendor coordination Support operating companies with event planning and marketing resources as needed Provide on-site leadership and support for enterprise and operating company events, which may require occasional evening and weekend work Creative Services Direct development of marketing collateral, presentations, promotional materials, photography, video, and digital content Ensure marketing materials accurately reflect enterprise values and branding standards Coordinate relationships with external marketing vendors, designers, printers, photographers, and advertising partners Enterprise Collaboration Partner with Presidents and operating company leadership to understand business needs Coordinate enterprise marketing efforts across the MFB while respecting the unique brands, markets, and identities of each operating company Foster collaboration among companies to maximize enterprise marketing effectiveness Partner with enterprise shared services and operating company leadership to support organizational initiatives, recruiting, employee engagement, business development, and community outreach efforts Organizational Alignment & Role Scope The Director of Marketing is responsible for: Enterprise marketing strategy Brand management Internal and external communications Enterprise events Digital marketing Creative Services Marketing support for operating companies The role operates through: Partnership with executive leadership Collaboration with operating company leadership Coordination across enterprise functions Influence, communication, and brand stewardship Direct Reports Marketing Specialist(s) Marketing Coordinator(s) Other marketing, graphic design, and communications support positions (as the function evolves) Qualifications Experience 8-10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, branding, public relations, or related fields Experience leading enterprise, multi-company, or multi-location marketing initiatives preferred Experience supporting executive leadership and organizational communications Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across diverse business units Experience with event planning, digital marketing, and brand management Skills & Competencies Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute marketing, branding, communications, and event initiatives that support enterprise objectives Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and effectively engage diverse audiences Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and successfully execute multiple initiatives across operating companies Creative, analytical, and results oriented mindset with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail Ability to collaborate effectively across a decentralized organization while balancing enterprise brand consistency with the unique needs of individual operating companies Measures of Success Consistency and effectiveness of enterprise branding and communications Successful execution of enterprise marketing initiatives and events Support provided to operating companies and enterprise leadership Employee engagement and communication effectiveness Growth in organizational visibility and brand recognition Effectiveness of digital
