Job Description

Position Summary The Market Practice Manager manages and coordinates the daily operations of medical practices to ensure alignment with organizational goals, operational efficiency, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and physician satisfaction. This role ensures regulatory compliance, supports strategic initiatives, and fosters a culture of professional growth and continuous improvement. Essential Functions The essential functions listed below are representative of the duties required of this position and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Manage daily operations of medical offices to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality service delivery Assist with developing and implementing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan and vision Manage staff relations including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, payroll, performance management, conflict resolution, and staff development Supervise and mentor staff, fostering an environment that encourages professional growth and engagement Monitor departmental budgets, financial reports, managed care contracts, coding compliance, and operational benchmarks to ensure financial viability and cash flow optimization Oversee point-of-service collections, charge entry, cash posting, insurance claims, appeals, write-offs, and management of past-due balances Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, organizational policies, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA Manage departmental contracts, vendor relationships, and purchasing of equipment, systems, and supplies while monitoring usage and functionality Promote and represent department or clinic services by collaborating with physicians, staff, patients, payors, referring providers, and vendors Ensure the department remains focused on its role within the continuum of care Serve internal and external customers including staff, patients, physicians, contractors, and vendors Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Plan, assign, schedule, and review work of department staff Ensure compliance with quality and performance standards Responsible for hiring, training, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff as appropriate Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Education Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, practice management, or a related field required Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education Experience Minimum of 2 years medical clinic office management experience or 4+ years medical clinic supervisory experience Experience in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, OB/GYN, Cardiology, or Orthopedics preferred Certifications / Licensure None required Skills & Competencies Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting and financial analysis Ability to analyze and solve complex operational and business problems Proficient computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to handle sensitive situations Ability to motivate, coach, and influence others Independent judgment and decision-making skills Strong organizational and project management abilities Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards Physical & Mental Demands Ability to sit for extended periods with frequent computer use Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds Repetitive motion associated with computer and office work Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Work Environment & Travel Office and hospital environment with exposure to routine office equipment May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, contagious illnesses, and biohazardous materials Noise level typical of office and hospital settings Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Jackson Purchase Medical Center is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunities and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
