Job Description
Position Summary. The Manager of Marketing & Alumni Engagement is responsible for overseeing marketing and communications efforts for Bergan Catholic Schools as well as leading young alumni engagement efforts. This position develops and implements marketing strategies that support enrollment, fundraising, and alumni engagement ensuring a consistent and compelling brand across all communication platforms. Works closely with school leadership, Advancement Team, other faculty, alumni, and community partners to strengthen relationships, tell the Bergan Catholic story, and inspire lifelong engagement with the school. Key Responsibilities Liaison with leadership to ensure that marketing and communications efforts are aligned with Bergan Catholic's goals. Administer digital and print marketing programs, including social media, website, email campaigns, ads, and flyers ensuring brand consistency. Ensure quality online reputation and generate positive online reviews and respond to reviews. Maximize website performance, track keyword rankings, and implement SEO strategies. Provide marketing plans and materials for fundraising events.. Regularly present in all locations to capture regular video, photo, and written content. Serve as the primary communications liaison for Bergan Catholic alumni from the Class of 2009 forward, fostering lifelong relationships and engagement. Develop and implement communication and content strategies through email, social media, digital storytelling, and alumni events to keep young alumni connected to Bergan Catholic. Collaborate with the Director of Development to increase young alumni participation in school events, volunteer opportunities, and annual giving initiatives. Maintain confidentiality, especially with donor records and upcoming projects. Breakdown of Duties 70% Marketing & Communications (Key Responsibilities 1-6) 30% Alumni Engagement (Key Responsibilities 7-10) Top 5 Necessary Skills & Competencies Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with all types of different personalities both internally and externally. Proficiency with Social Media Platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, website design, and Microsoft Office as well as email marketing, photography, video editing, & SEO. Ability to prioritize work assignments for self and others amidst many ongoing projects. Compelling storytelling that reaches all audiences effectively. Passion for personally impacting the long-term success for our school's mission. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or other related field (or equivalent experience). Proven track record of creative, efficient, & results-oriented marketing & communications efforts Proficiency with Social Media Platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X), Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, website design, and Microsoft Office required. Experience in nonprofit or education preferred. Proficiency in Blackbaud, Firespring, SEO, video editing, photography, and email marketing platforms preferred.
