As the Marketing/Communications Director, you will play a pivotal role in promoting our synagogue's mission, events, and programs through the implementation and development of effective marketing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about community engagement, with a strong background in marketing and communications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop and Implement Marketing Plans:
Work closely with leadership to understand the synagogue's goals and objectives and to communicate them to the public. Create comprehensive marketing plans to promote events, programs, and community initiatives. Audit all communications to the congregation and propose a plan that is based upon best practices.
Content Creation:
Generate engaging and relevant content for various modes of communication, including social media posts and the synagogue website. Oversee the weekly communications to the congregation and develop targeted marketing for specific events. Oversee the bulletin that is sent out quarterly. Collaborate with each synagogue department to gather information and stories that highlight the richness of our community. Maintain and curate the Beth El website.
Social Media Management:
Manage and generate content for social media platforms to enhance the synagogue's online presence. Monitor social media trends and engage with the community through comments and messages.
Graphic Design:
Create visually appealing graphics for both online and offline promotional materials. Ensure a consistent and professional visual identity in all marketing materials, including the communications sent by each synagogue department
Event Promotion:
Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote synagogue events, including religious services, educational programs, musical events and community gatherings. Coordinate with event organizers, including staff and lay leaders to develop a timeline and strategy for the effective promotion of events.
Community Engagement:
Foster a sense of community through targeted marketing campaigns that encourage increased participation and in-person involvement. Utilize feedback mechanisms to continuously improve marketing strategies and community engagement. Work closely with community members in developing strategies for events they are chairing. Represent Beth El in all marketing initiatives in
Westchester Analytics and Reporting:
Track the performance of marketing campaigns through analytics tools. Provide regular reports and insights to leadership, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Proven experience in marketing, preferably in a community or religious organization. Understanding of, or curiosity about Jewish rituals, holidays and customs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a team-oriented environment. Proficient in graphic design tools and social media platforms. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Rich creative thinking and the ability to make Beth El shine in words and design.
